❄️WINTER BALL

Join us for the Argo Winter Ball!

This is a fun event for the whole family. Children must be accompanied by parents or adults. (Please do not drop off kids.)

Friday, 2/7, 5-8 pm

  • 5:00–6:30 PM - Enjoy free food, crafts, music, photo booth, Girls on the Run booth, and bid on auction items.
  • 6:30–7:30 PM - Entertainment and dancing!
  • 7:30–8:00 PM - Celebrate the auction winners and keep the fun going!

Thank you to the staff and families who have contributed to the auction! As of now, we will have 14 amazing experiences to bid on, everything from learning to raise chickens in your backyard to a private Makerspace session with the glowforge machine! Keep those gifts of talent coming, Argo Bears! The auction will be a fun way to connect with our school and support our students. To donate, please fill out this form.

🚨 VOLUNTEERS NEEDED 🀚

Argonaut PTA needs a minimum of four PTA members to participate in this year's Nominating Committee. Your participation directly influences next year's Argonaut PTA (2025-2026) leadership team by identifying, evaluating, and selecting passionate people to further enrich our community. This opportunity requires less than 15 hours of your time from February through April, and can meet in person and/or remotely. The Nominating Committee needs to be selected by Friday, 2/7/2025. There is still time to donate to SEF! Together, we can make a lasting impact on our students and the community. Please consider contributing so that we can reach our goal of raising $500,000. Review our latest newsletter to learn more about the budget and the programs that SEF plans to support.

Party goers will have the chance to bid on things like Principal for a Day or Swim lessons with Chris Co throughout the event. It will be a fun way to get to know each other and support our school! LUNAR NEW YEAR ASSEMBLY

This Friday, 1/24 the Lunar New Year committee will do a special cultural presentation at the school assembly. Dress in your festive Lunar New Year clothing if you have them! There will be activities led by parent volunteers at school during recess and a photo backdrop for students and families to take pictures.

PTA funds brought brand new Kinderlab Kibo robots to our school’s Makerspace? Ask a second grader about the bowling challenge that they did recently. Or better yet, volunteer in your student’s makerspace class and see them in action for yourself!

Last week, we did a bowling challenge and by the end of the class, we had the entire classroom watching and cheering together! The students’ smiles and enthusiasm speak volumes about the impact of your contribution.

In addition to the festivities, we will bring back our tradition of hosting a silent auction. This year, the auction will focus on gifts of time and talent from our school community. SUSD Special Virtual Event - Bridging the Gap: Communicating with your Kids about Sexuality

Wednesday, 1/8, 6:30-8:00pm Workshop Zoom Link

We are excited to welcome back Ivy Chen, MPH, again this year to talk to TK-8 parents/guardians about “Bridging the Gap: Communicating with Your Kids about Sexuality.” Body development, relationships, and establishing boundaries are issues that affect kids of ALL ages. In this popular workshop, parents/guardians will learn how to guide kids of ALL ages through these important topics in today’s modern culture. 🎀 ARGO VARIETY SHOW 🎭

WE ARE THE WORLD WALKATHON

Ms. Reichmuth's Fourth Grade is raising funds for Heifer International’s Send a Girl to School program. Every $225 raised sends one girl to school, and our goal is to raise $550, enough to send two girls to school which will help families and generations!

  • πŸ“… When: Dec. 17–19, during morning recess
  • πŸ“ Where: Argonaut lower blacktop
  • πŸ‘Ÿ Who: Room 23 students, parent volunteers, and anyone who wants to join!

Each student will walk 15 laps over three days to raise money for this important cause. A suggested donation of $15 (just $1 per lap) or more will help make education accessible for girls around the world. Donations of any size are welcomed and appreciated. Your support will make a lasting impact!

How to Get Involved:

Together, we can give girls the opportunity to go to school and change their lives. Let’s make a difference, one lap at a time! Thank you for your support!

πŸŒΌπŸ’€DIA DE LOS MUERTOS

Through 11/6 visit the Dia De Los Muertos Exhibit in the Argo Library.  We encourage everyone to enjoy all the symbols of this Latin American holiday and use it as a teaching tool. There are signs posted all around explaining the symbols and origins of the holiday. Argo Bears have added a little piece of their family or artwork to the exhibit. Thank you to Mrs. Tawaratsumida's class, Mrs. Kannberg's class, and parent volunteers for putting this on!

During Conference Week (11/4-11/8), visit the Book Fair in the Argo Library during recess and after dismissal all week! Students wanting to purchase items other than books must show a parent-signed permission slip to buy non-book items. There are still opportunities to volunteer!

AUTHOR VISIT

Max Brallier, author of The Last Kids on Earth series, will visit Argonaut on Wednesday, 11/13. Order by Thursday, 11/7 to get a copy signed by the author! Place orders here.

On Saturday, November 2, six Argonaut teams competed in a robotics scrimmage hosted by Saratoga MSET. Team 1, the “Oceanic Overlords” (Anika, Eason, Isen, and Jonathan), took 1st place in the Innovation Challenge and 3rd place in Robot Design. Team 2, “Argo Spitfire” (Abhay, Elliot, Kabir, Reyansh, and Shivaansh), earned 3rd place in Robot Performance.

Wishing all teams the best of luck in the upcoming FIRST LEGO League Qualifying Tournaments over the next few weeks!
