Argonaut Marathon starts now! Run/walk/hike 26.2 miles in April (13.1 for Kinder). Weekly challenges & prizes! Sponsorship opportunities available! Visit the PTA website for more information and to register. T-shirt order deadline: April 16th.
π *NEW* AFTERSCHOOL DRAMA PROGRAM
Students can learn performing arts skills and creative thinking through fun improv and theater games. They'll boost confidence acting with friends and enjoy expressing emotions and characters.The first of six classes will be Thursday, 4/17. Argo Science Fair – Wednesday, April 23rd | 6:00–8:00 PM | MPR
Thank you to everyone who signed up to participate! Poster boards are now available for pickup from Ms. Annette in the office. Please be sure to mention your team members / project title while picking up the poster board so we can keep track. The projects look fantastic—we’re so excited to see them all!

π±KEEP THE ARGO GARDEN ALIVE π₯¬
Love to spend time outdoors? The Argo Garden needs you! We're looking for a friendly volunteer (you or a family member!) to help our students explore and enjoy the garden for just one hour a week (12:15pm-1:25pm). One hour a week is the minimum, but you can contribute more if you'd like. No gardening experience is necessary! Think of it as a fun, creative hour spent watering, raking, planting, and tending our magical fairy garden with the kids. Grandparents and all district-approved family members are welcome! Our current garden docent will provide all the guidance you need. Interested in joining the garden team? Email admin-garden@argonautpta.org
Requirements:
- Commit to one hour per week (12:15pm-1:25pm), with the specific day flexible and coordinated with the garden support teacher (weather permitting).
- Open and close the garden during lunchtime gardening sessions.
- Assist with hands-on activities like watering, weeding, raking, and planting.
- Occasionally gather supplies (plants, soil) within the garden budget.
- Communicate regularly with the garden support teacher.

SARATOGA EDUCATION FOUNDATION (SEF)
There is still time to donate to SEF! Together, we can make a lasting impact on our students and the community. Please consider contributing so that we can reach our goal of raising $500,000. Review our latest newsletter to learn more about the budget and the programs that SEF plans to support.
For our next SEF Workshop, we are pleased to welcome back parenting coach, educator and podcaster, Mary Eschen. Attend Mary's talk titled, Becoming a Calm Parent, on Monday, April 14th at 9:00 AM at Menlo Church, 20455 Herriman Avenue (across from Saratoga High School). Mary is a former SUSD parent and creator of the podcast PARENTING DECODED. In this session she will help us work through some calming new ideas to break the cycles of anger in our homes that are so easily set off by the kids we love so much. Space is limited to 50 participants so please register to help us better plan for the event!
SEF's donor appreciation event is coming up in less than a month! Additional donors who contribute to SEF by April 5 will be invited to our donor appreciation event which takes place on April 26. Please consider giving to our important cause so that we can continue to provide SUSD children with an enriching learning experience.
SARATOGA HIGH SCHOOL AND SARATOGA THEATRE ARTS

Summer Fun! If you are looking for something fun (AND educational) for your child (8+) over summer, consider signing them up for Silicon Valley Shakespeare's 2 week camp. Students will rehearse "The Tempest" (abridged to 40 minutes) and enjoy immersing themselves in the magic of Shakespeare. Whether they choose to be part of the cast or crew, the final day has a performance for family and friends. Drama helps kids build confidence as public speakers, collaborate as artists and thinkers, and develop learning skills that will continue to serve them well after the summer's fun is over. ARGO GARDEN
STOP THE ARGO GARDEN FROM CLOSING!
Are you (or a family member) free from 12:15pm-1:25pm, one day a week? The Argo Garden needs you! You do not need to know ANYTHING about gardening. We are asking someone in our Argo community to step up next year to help the kids explore the garden. This can be any family member that has been cleared by the district (grandparents welcome). The current garden docent will walk you through the garden volunteer steps. The Argo Garden is a creative and forgiving place. The minimum work is 1 hour a week, it can be anything you want beyond that! The kids enjoy watering, raking, planting, and tending the fairy garden. Please consider supporting our students and their creative outlet in the garden. Volunteer or questions, please email admin-garden@argonautpta.org.
Requirements:
- One hour a week, 12:15pm-1:25pm (weather depending). The day can be discussed with the garden support teacher.
- Meet and communicate with the garden support teacher.
- Assist the teacher and kids in watering, weeding, raking, planting.
- Open and close the garden after the lunch time gardening.

Your PTA donations and our Special Assemblies team are bringing the Extreme Science 2.0 show to Argonaut on Monday, 3/24 at 1:15 PM and 2:10 PM. Here’s a sneak preview!
David Hagerman has been performing his science assemblies for over 20 years. Though based in Branson, MO, David performs all over the country. Extreme Science 2.0 is a forty-five minute program including two performers, music and amazingly visual demonstrations:

700,000 Volt Van de Graaff generator (VDG): (one of the largest you can find), it creates 10-15 inch lightening bolts and more than enough static to raise hair

Vortex Cannons: creates flying rings of fog

Floating beach balls: thanks to the Bernoulli effect, we have flight

As part of SEF's ongoing enrichment programs, Saratoga Education Foundation (SEF) is offering a series of workshops and seminars for parents and students of SUSD. The next one is on Tuesday, 3/25 with Mary Eschen who will host a workshop that will cover a variety of parenting topics. Mary is an ACC level coach and a former SUSD parent and has been lecturing and teaching practical parenting skills for over 10 years. Join Mary for a free, one-hour talk at Menlo Church (20455 Herriman Ave) at either 9:00am or 7:00pm at your convenience. Space is limited to, so please register to help us better plan for the event!

SARATOGA HISTORICAL MUSEUM
Please become a member of the Saratoga Historical Museum!
The mission of the Saratoga Historical Foundation is to preserve the unique history of Saratoga for the education and enjoyment of the community. Your dues and contributions fund our activities and help keep the Saratoga History Museum open. As a member you'll be informed of the many educational and social activities associated with the museum, such as lectures on California or local histories, new exhibits in the museum, and walking tours. The Educational Programs in the museum directly benefit Saratoga schools. Each year, 450-500 school children visit our Museum. They are 2nd, 3rd and some 5th graders.
The museum is located at 20450 Saratoga-Los Gatos Road, Saratoga. It's free to the general public and opens Friday through Sunday. Please use this link below to become a member or make donations.

David Hagerman has been performing his science assemblies for over 20 years. Though based in Branson, MO, David performs all over the country. Extreme Science 2.0 is a forty-five minute program including two performers, music and amazingly visual demonstrations:
- 700,000 Volt Van de Graaff generator (VDG): (one of the largest you can find), it creates 10-15 inch lightening bolts and more than enough static to raise hair
- Vortex Cannons: Creates flying rings of fog
- Floating beach balls: thanks to the Bernoulli effect, we have flight

As part of SEF's ongoing enrichment programs, Saratoga Education Foundation (SEF) is offering a series of workshops and seminars for parents and students of SUSD. The next one is on Monday, March 17 with Mary Eschen who will host a workshop that will cover a variety of parenting topics. Mary is an ACC level coach and a former SUSD parent and has been lecturing and teaching practical parenting skills for over 10 years. Join Mary for a free, one-hour talk at Menlo Church (20455 Herriman Ave) at either 9:00am or 7:00pm at your convenience. Space is limited to, so please register to help us better plan for the event!

This Friday, 1/24 the Lunar New Year committee will do a special cultural presentation at the school assembly. Dress in your festive Lunar New Year clothing if you have them! There will be activities led by parent volunteers at school during recess and a photo backdrop for students and families to take pictures.

PTA funds brought brand new Kinderlab Kibo robots to our school’s Makerspace? Ask a second grader about the bowling challenge that they did recently. Or better yet, volunteer in your student’s makerspace class and see them in action for yourself!
Last week, we did a bowling challenge and by the end of the class, we had the entire classroom watching and cheering together! The students’ smiles and enthusiasm speak volumes about the impact of your contribution.

SHS Theatre Auditions
Argonaut students can be part of the SHS "The Little Mermaid" production with a no prep, no stress audition: Friday, 1/24 from 3:30-5 pm. Click here to get more information and fill out the interest form.
Saratoga Education Foundation
There is still time to donate to the Saratoga Education Foundation (SEF). Together, we can make a lasting impact on our students and the community. Please consider contributing so that we can reach our goal of raising $500,000. Review our latest newsletter to learn more about the budget and the programs that SEF plans to support.
SAVE THE DATE: SEF is hosting a donor appreciation event on Saturday, 4/26 afternoon at the beautiful House Family Vineyard. Donors who contribute by 4/15 will receive an invitation and additional information about the Donor Appreciation Event. We hope to see you there!

βοΈWINTER BALL ACCEPTING DONATIONS π₯³
In addition to the festivities, we will bring back our tradition of hosting a silent auction. This year, the auction will focus on gifts of time and talent from our school community. Party goers will have the chance to bid on things like Principal for a Day or Swim lessons with Chris Co throughout the event. It will be a meaningful and fun way to get to know each other and support our school! To donate, please fill out this form.
We will also accept material items as raffle prizes. Raffles will take place multiple times throughout the party. You must be present the night of Friday, 2/7 to play and win.
