🌱KEEP THE ARGO GARDEN ALIVE πŸ₯¬

Love to spend time outdoors? The Argo Garden needs you!  We're looking for a friendly volunteer (you or a family member!) to help our students explore and enjoy the garden for just one hour a week (12:15pm-1:25pm). One hour a week is the minimum, but you can contribute more if you'd like. No gardening experience is necessary! Think of it as a fun, creative hour spent watering, raking, planting, and tending our magical fairy garden with the kids. Grandparents and all district-approved family members are welcome! Our current garden docent will provide all the guidance you need. Interested in joining the garden team? Email admin-garden@argonautpta.org

Requirements:

  • Commit to one hour per week (12:15pm-1:25pm), with the specific day flexible and coordinated with the garden support teacher (weather permitting).
  • Open and close the garden during lunchtime gardening sessions.
  • Assist with hands-on activities like watering, weeding, raking, and planting.
  • Occasionally gather supplies (plants, soil) within the garden budget.
  • Communicate regularly with the garden support teacher.

🌑️ FUNDRAISING UPDATE πŸ’°

The Argo PTA has reached 87% of our annual fundraising goal! Your tax-deductible $195 per student Just Do It donation directly supports vital programs and events for our students at Argonaut. Donate here, then 2x or 3x your donation with company match!

SARATOGA EDUCATION FOUNDATION (SEF)

There is still time to donate to SEF! Together, we can make a lasting impact on our students and the community. Please consider contributing so that we can reach our goal of raising $500,000. Review our latest newsletter to learn more about the budget and the programs that SEF plans to support.

For our next SEF Workshop, we are pleased to welcome back parenting coach, educator and podcaster, Mary Eschen. Attend Mary's talk titled, Becoming a Calm Parent, on Monday, April 14th at 9:00 AM at Menlo Church, 20455 Herriman Avenue (across from Saratoga High School). Mary is a former SUSD parent and creator of the podcast PARENTING DECODED. In this session she will help us work through some calming new ideas to break the cycles of anger in our homes that are so easily set off by the kids we love so much. Space is limited to 50 participants so please register to help us better plan for the event!

SEF's donor appreciation event is coming up in less than a month! Additional donors who contribute to SEF by April 5 will be invited to our donor appreciation event which takes place on April 26. Please consider giving to our important cause so that we can continue to provide SUSD children with an enriching learning experience.

SARATOGA THEATRE ARTS - Silicon Valley Shakespeare Summer Camp

Summer Fun! If you are looking for something fun (AND educational) for your child (8+) over summer, consider signing them up for Silicon Valley Shakespeare's 2 week camp.  Students will rehearse "The Tempest" (abridged to 40 minutes) and enjoy immersing themselves in the magic of Shakespeare.  Whether they choose to be part of the cast or crew, the final day has a performance for family and friends. Drama helps kids build confidence as public speakers, collaborate as artists and thinkers, and develop learning skills that will continue to serve them well after the summer's fun is over.  Click here to learn more and register your child.
