Art Docent Program

The Art Docent Program, led by parent volunteers, offers visual art lessons to all TK-5th grade students. These lessons cover various media, including drawing, painting, collage, printmaking, mixed-media, ceramics, and sculpture. Each lesson focuses on elements of art and principles of design, often drawing inspiration from master artists or cultural contexts.

Through exploration and experimentation with different materials, students are encouraged to unleash their creativity and imagination. The program fosters observation and problem-solving skills, as well as an appreciation for both their own work and that of others. Students also learn art vocabulary, develop an appreciation for fine arts, and connect their experiences to the artwork introduced in lessons.

Every student's artwork from Argonaut will be showcased in the Children's Area of the Saratoga Library throughout the month of April.

If you are interested in volunteering as an art docent, please complete the PTA Volunteer Form or your child's Classroom Volunteers Signup and we will be in touch.
